Hard Launch: IWC Ingenieur Stainless Steel Watch Designed by Master Gérald Genta

A hard launch of the IWC Ingenieur stainless steel automatic mechanical watch, personally designed by master watchmaker Gérald Genta. With a 40mm diameter, this timepiece is perfectly suited for Asian wrists. At just 10mm thick, it houses an ETA2892 movement surrounded by a soft iron inner case to protect against magnetic interference, and offers water resistance up to 120 meters. The elegant and functional three-hand design features eye-catching drilled bezel markings—a signature of legendary designer Gérald Genta, who also created the Patek Philippe Nautilus and Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. In 1976, he introduced the iconic Ingenieur SL with five functional drilled holes directly on the crystal bezel, originally used to secure the bezel in place. Today, these drilled holes, screw caps, and lightning-bolt motifs have become the hallmark identity of the Ingenieur collection. The robust crown guard and solid metal hands further reinforce its image as a ‘time safe.’ This classic Ingenieur model comes with either a silver-plated or black dial. The silver dial version features rhodium-plated or rose gold hands with applied hour markers, while the black dial pairs rhodium-plated hands with applied indexes, creating sharp contrast and visual appeal.
