Dandong 3285 Movement
This release from Clean features the 226570 in black and white dial options, with the standout being the use of the 3285 movement—the same as used in the 126710. However, the 3285 movement in the 226570 is oversized. The date position also differs from the 126710.
As a result, most current market versions of the 226570 have incorrect date positioning. Due to the relative niche status of the Explorer II, movement manufacturers are generally reluctant to develop specialized movements for this model. Clean spent over a year convincing the Dandong movement factory to develop a dedicated version.
Bezel Font Differences:
The differences between the 226570 and 216570 are significant—covering movement, 42mm case size, case design, hands, and bezel font thickness.
Black Dial Note: Genuine black dials, due to their production year, still use the older thin font on the bezel.
White Dial Note: The white dial was purchased in 2023 and features the newer thick font.
The Explorer II is a rare and uniquely special watch within the entire Rolex lineup. Prior to Clean’s release, I had not found a truly perfect replica version. Hopefully, Clean will continue to deliver more high-quality products in the future.
