Why has enamel dial craftsmanship become representative of high-end luxury watches? Take this commemorative Porsche 993 watch dial as an example: first, a perfect black base must be fired to achieve the clear, translucent appearance of automotive paint. If overheated even slightly during firing, the color is ruined, resulting in an extremely low yield rate. The second challenge lies in the difficulty of applying paint using enamel techniques—printing intricate details onto the dial surface is highly complex. The entire dial layout includes three small gauges for speed, fuel level, and oil temperature, along with the main tachometer scale. It also features ornamental script printing of ‘993 Carrera’ and the owner’s yellow license plate ‘SF LOVE’. After discarding 50 failed dial blanks, we finally achieved just three pieces of relatively acceptable quality. This is a custom edition.
