I really don’t want to call it a ‘trash bag’ because it’s simply too beautiful—anything but trashy. The moment you wear it, you’ll fall in love instantly. Trying this piece on reminded me of my original passion for luxury brands—YSL was exactly where it all began. My first designer bag over a decade ago was also from YSL. After all these years, that affection has come full circle.
YSL used to embody elegance with restraint—luxurious yet disciplined, subtly sensual. In the past, their pieces always seemed to suit only the slimmest, most polished beauties. But recently, the brand’s designs have taken on a more relaxed, effortless vibe, perhaps influenced by current trends. This Jamie bag, in particular, stands out as my absolute favorite among the recent wave of ‘slouchy’ or ‘trash bag’-style designs, simply because it looks stunning when worn.
YSL is becoming increasingly wearable and accessible—whether that’s a good or bad thing is up for debate—but personally, I’m completely smitten with this one. The size and capacity are perfectly balanced, the leather is beautifully soft, and above all, the shoulder strap length is just—just—right.
