1. Left/Right: GEN = Genuine product; CLEAN = CLEAN factory product.
2. The left-side gray dial appears slightly different in color under softbox lighting, resulting in noticeable color variance. However, under natural light, the resemblance exceeds 95%, and future comparisons will be shown in natural lighting conditions.
3. The right-side blue dial: Compared to the genuine article, the C factory version has a slightly lighter blue hue. That said, due to the nature of sunburst dials, colors naturally vary under different lighting conditions. More precisely, as long as the RGB values remain within the same baseline range, there is no significant deviation. For all sunburst dials—including Submariner dials, various Datejust dials, and this Yacht-Master model—C factory uses the same PVD plating process as the original. This ensures consistent color across production batches, avoiding tonal variations. Additionally, the thin coating allows clear visibility of the underlying sunray finish. The downside is higher production cost.
4. The bezel for this release features PVD-plated platinum combined with an anti-fingerprint coating. The base material has been upgraded from standard brass to stainless steel. This means that even if the bezel suffers impact damage and the plating wears off, the exposed base metal remains close in color to platinum. Furthermore, stainless steel offers greater hardness than conventional brass, reflecting significant investment in both manufacturing precision and production cost.
