I never thought I’d hesitate to call this a ‘trash bag’ — because it’s truly stunning. It doesn’t look like a trash bag at all; one try-on and you’ll fall in love instantly.
Trying on this piece reminded me of why I originally fell for luxury brands — it was YSL that started it all. My first designer bag over a decade ago was also from YSL. After all these years, that affection has come full circle.
YSL used to embody elegance with restraint — sophisticated yet subtly sensual. In the past, it always seemed like only the slimmest, most polished beauties could truly pull off their pieces. But recently, their designs have taken on a more relaxed, effortless vibe — perhaps reflecting the current cultural mood. This Jamie bag, part of the popular ‘slouchy trash bag’ trend in recent years, is my absolute favorite so far, simply because it looks incredible when worn.
YSL has become increasingly accessible and wearable. Whether that’s a good or bad thing is debatable — but personally, I’m completely smitten with this one. The size and capacity are perfectly balanced, the leather is beautifully soft, and above all, the shoulder strap length is just — just — right.
