I really don’t want to call it a trash bag because it’s absolutely gorgeous—anything but ordinary. Wearing it instantly won me over. Only after trying it on did I remember why I fell in love with luxury brands in the first place—YSL. My very first designer bag over a decade ago was also from YSL. After all these years, that affection has come full circle.
YSL used to embody an elegant, restrained sensuality—luxurious yet disciplined. Those who wore it well always struck me as sleek, sophisticated beauties. But in recent years, the brand’s designs have taken on a more relaxed, effortless vibe, perhaps reflecting broader fashion trends. This Jamie bag, part of the popular ‘slouchy’ or so-called ‘trash bag’ trend, is my absolute favorite among them—because it looks incredible when worn.
YSL is becoming increasingly wearable and accessible. Whether that’s a good or bad thing, I’m not sure—but personally, I’m completely in love with this piece. The size and capacity are perfectly balanced, the leather is beautifully soft, and most importantly, the shoulder strap length is just—just—right.
