I really don’t want to refer to this as a ‘trash bag’ because it’s far too stunning—absolutely nothing like an ordinary trash bag. The moment I tried it on, I fell in love instantly. Wearing this piece reminded me of my original passion for luxury brands—it all started with YSL. My first designer bag over a decade ago was also from YSL. After all these years, that affection has come full circle.

But recently, the brand has embraced a more relaxed, effortless aesthetic, perhaps reflecting broader fashion trends. Among the recent wave of ‘slouchy’ or ‘trash bag’-style handbags, this Jamie tote stands out as my absolute favorite—simply because it looks incredible when worn.
YSL is becoming increasingly wearable and accessible. Whether that’s a good or bad evolution is debatable—but personally, I’m completely smitten with this piece. Its size and capacity are perfectly balanced, the leather is beautifully soft, and most importantly, the shoulder strap length is just—just—right.
