I really don’t want to refer to this as a ‘trash bag’ because it’s absolutely stunning—anything but trashy. The moment I tried it on, I fell in love. Wearing this piece reminded me of my original passion for luxury brands—it all started with YSL. My first designer bag over a decade ago was also from YSL. After all these years, that affection has come full circle.
YSL used to embody an elegant, restrained sensuality—luxurious yet disciplined. In the past, their designs seemed best suited for slender, sophisticated beauties. But recently, the brand’s aesthetic has shifted toward a more relaxed, effortless vibe, perhaps reflecting broader cultural trends. Among the popular slouchy ‘trash bag’ style bags that have emerged in recent years, this Jamie bag is my absolute favorite—simply because it looks incredible when worn.
YSL has become increasingly accessible and easy to wear; whether that’s a good or bad evolution, I’m not sure. But personally, I truly adore this piece. Its size and capacity are perfectly balanced, the leather is beautifully soft, and most importantly, the shoulder strap length is just—just—right.
