Inspired by the ‘Grand Tralala’ scarf design: During the reign of Austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I (1848–1916), the Hungarian Royal Guard was responsible for safeguarding the emperor and escorting his entourage. Their horses wore ornate saddlery adorned with gleaming buckles and vibrant leather reins and headstalls. The floral motifs draw inspiration from wood panel paintings by German decorative artist Moritz Meurer, preserved in Émile Hermès’ private collection. Virginie Jamin titled this design ‘Grand Tralala,’ reinterpreting the iconic equestrian spirit of Hermès.
